Hi Alina!

With the New Year just around the corner, I am trying to set professional goals for myself when it comes to growing my book of business. My problem is that I lose track of my goals and often feel overwhelmed as I get further into the year. How do I set goals that I can meet and stick to?

Hello there,

When people start setting goals in promo, they might think the end goal is just growing their book of business. While that is a great goal to achieve in theory, there’s no clear endgame and it’s not measurable or practical.

Instead, come up with a specific number that challenges you while being attainable. How much did you make this year? How much do you want to sell in 2024? When setting your goal, ask yourself if you want to set an aggressive but achievable goal or a moderate goal.

Your Big Goal should not be the primary goal you focus on. It can be intimidating and discouraging trying to reach a goal that feels unattainable. Try breaking up your big goal into goals that feel attainable and more relevant. For example, let’s say that you sold $500,000 last year and want to increase your sales to $750,000 this year. This means you have to sell $60,000 each month, which is around $15,000 a week or $3,000 each workday. Once you break your goal down into smaller more manageable achievements, reaching your Big Goal should be no problem.

Good luck and let me know how it goes!
