SanMar’s Charity Tech Packs Carry a Ton of Hope

SanMar has introduced a new line of sustainable backpacks to support two well-known charities, the American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross. Every purchase of the backpacks goes towards the respective charity to help further fund their mission. Here’s everything we know about SanMar’s new commuter backpacks.

How it Started

The idea of the charity packs came from a suggestion from a long-time SanMar customer who works at the American Cancer Society. They approached SanMar CEO, Jeremy Lott, with the idea and how it would be an impactful way for SanMar to make a difference. The choice to partner with ACS and ARC made sense for SanMar since they already had connections with the organizations. Plus, this partnership will work as a test for future charitable partnerships.

The Backpacks

Now, let’s get into the product. Customers have the option of two packs designed for world travelers and daily commuters, the American Red Cross pack, ACFG10ARC, and the American Cancer Society pack, ACFG10ACS. The bags are crafted from durable, recycled polyester and ballistic polyester. Each pack also has a unique patch sewn inside of it with a special QR code that redirects you to more information about the organizations and more ways to donate.

For every purchase of these charity packs, $5 will be donated to the designated charities. Donations will be tallied on a monthly basis for the American Red Cross and on a quarterly basis for the American Cancer Society.

SanMar will offer the Charity Tech Packs for the next two years, providing the backpacks based on the demand of their customers. They hope this is just the start, hopefully partnering with other charities through other various programs.
