Promo Hunters 4: Music Merch Galore

For this week’s Promo Hunters, we'll touch on two of our favorite topics: merch and music! This month has been STACKED for music fans alike with blockbuster releases from Ariana Grande, Kacey Musgraves, and Beyoncè filling the airwaves. We’ll look at some unique and creative promo products artists are using to promote their new albums.

But first, let's take a look at this week's Preferred Pick of the Week. With spring break travel in full swing - let’s talk luggage! Just like their iconic shoes, the Skechers Saratoga Wheeled Duffel from Logomark combines the stylish, sporty aesthetic with functionality and durability. It’s the perfect bag for overnight stays or short trips abroad. Take it with you on your next adventure! Now, back to the hits.

Ariana Grande — eternal sunshine

Earlier this month, pop superstar Ariana Grande released her much-anticipated 7th studio album, eternal sunshine. The album pays homage to the 2004 Jim Carey film of the same name, exploring love loss and the time they’ve spent together. Grande’s merch store fits the album’s aesthetics, pulling in shades of brown, white, and gold with red being the main focal color. Fans get their choice of four different album covers, with each record including a red-pressed vinyl. Regarding merch, her website includes screen-printed hoodies and t-shirts, embroidered sweatshirts, canvas totes, frilly socks, and even an obsidian stone necklace with the album's title engraved on it. I definitely won’t be saying “thank u, next” to any of these items.

Kacey Musgraves — Deeper Well:

On Kacey Musgraves’ 6th studio album, Deeper Well, the Grammy-winning country star touches on growth and reflection, focusing on life, love, and self-care. And speaking of self-care, Musgraves is offering a Deeper Well candle box set as part of the promotion for her new album. Each box comes with a vinyl-sized art card, a reusable softbox, and the pièce de résistance; a Deeper Well candle from Musgraves’ collaboration with candle maker Boy Smells and a green glass cloche filled with matchsticks. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the incredible vinyl pressings for her album (the cardinal one is a personal favorite).

Beyonce — Cowboy Carter:

We’re keeping up the country vibe with an artist that needs no introduction. For her 9th studio album, Cowboy Carter, the ICONIC Beyoncè is tapping into her Houston roots for her take on the country genre. To promote her new album, Beyoncè is keeping it simple with her selection only having vinyls, CDs, and box sets for sale. So, what’s so special about it? It’s what she doesn’t show that makes this merch stand out. All the fans know when purchasing the products is what it is, no artwork or product renderings. Even the image on the album isn't even the final cover, building more hype and intrigue around her upcoming release. As of writing this, the album hasn’t been released yet, but I am curious to see what the rest of the merch will look like once it’s all out.
